Montreal-born Ann Marie “amc” Collymore is a veteran independent writer, blogger, editor and copywriter with more than 20 years of experience writing for various print and online publications in Canada and the U.S. Her many years in the entertainment industry has paved a path of multiple achievements in the arts community in Toronto and New York City.

Ann Marie’s achievements include hosting a popular four-year long-standing radio show, The Rhythm with AMC—syndicated in the U.S. and Canada; co-host of Curls, Coils & Cocktails—a highly anticipated annual wellness and entertainment event, speaking on various panels about her music industry experience and raising awareness about post eclampsia. She is presently the entertainment writer for Caribbean Vibrations and former lead entertainment writer for ByBlacks.com. I almost died delivering my son

I read a lot of books and articles when I was pregnant. My goal was to be as informed as I could be on all things pregnancy-related. It was my first rodeo and I was 42 years old, and fell into the category of being “at-risk” for a list of pregnancy ailments. From c-sections to pre-term labour, I thought I was thoroughly book- and internet-savvy, right down to preeclampsia. However, postpartum preeclampsia was something I wasn't ready for. This disease that I somehow overlooked nearly took my life.

We Went To Stratford Theatre Festival For The Opening Night Of Wedding Band!

I recently experienced the latter while in Stratford, Ontario, attending the Stratford Festival for a momentous event. Remember, I attended the festival for the first time last year, and it was a whirlwind of media that led to an exhausting, yet spectacular time. As a lover of the arts, the experience was cemented in my mind, and I already knew that I would be returning to the town for an annual theatre fix. I’m now on season two, but this run began with a special trip.
